Chadstone installs unreadable 'Tow Away' warning signs at Middle Rd

Centre Management for Chadstone have installed signage at the eastern end of Middle Road, which adjoins the busy Warrigal Road. The signage outlines the terms and conditions for parking vehicles within the centre carparks and warns motorists their vehicle could be towed away for failing to abide by the stipulated terms and conditions.

However the conditions stated on the signs may be unenforceable. It would be deemed unreasonable for motorists to have an opportunity to fully peruse the sign as they are not permitted to stop due to road rules. Due to the placement of the signs, the only way a driver could properly read it is by stopping their vehicle foul of the Middle Rd/Warrigal Road intersection.

Stopping a vehicle in front of the 'Tow Away' would block the Middle Road / Warrigal Road intersection and render the driver liable for disobeying Road Rule 128. This rule requires a motorist to keep intersections clear.

Ironically, the only people who could reasonably peruse the signs properly are pedestrians walking to Chadstone Chopping Centre, to whom the warning isn't applicable as they are not bringing in a motor vehicle into the Centre.
