24 Hour trading started, Chadstone open until 6pm Christmas Eve

The mad rush and crush has begun at Chadstone Shopping Centre. Trading will continue until 6pm on Thursday 24th December 2009.

Center manager Stephen DeWaele says shop owners are well prepared, with plenty of coffee and high-energy drinks to keep them going throughout the night.
More and more people are increasingly leaving their gift shopping to the last minute, taking advantage of the 24-hour trading period.
The carparks will be at full capacity and overflow is expected to cause traffic congestion on the roads surrounding the centre. Chadstone has always had the reputation of being notoriously difficult to find a parking spot, even at the best of times, let alone during the mad Christmas rush. Shoppers are advised to use public transport instead. however the 700 route operated by Ventura is also expected to be highly patronised. But by using public transport, shoppers can avoid the snarls associated with trying to find a parking spot.
