This year, sales in the lead up to Christmas 2010 has been slower than usual.
The effects of the global financial crisis, coupled with the recent interest
rate rises, have caused shoppers to become reluctant to spend, and even procrastinate
on the Christmas spending.
Consequently, in the two weeks leading up to Christmas, Chadstone has not had
the expected patronage. In fact, in the final week before Christmas, it was not
at all difficult to find a carparking space during the week.
