Chadstone plans another major expansion

The centre has plans to expand the shopping complex, costing in excess of $500m.
Currently, 21 million people pass through the doors of the centre each year - almost equivalent to the population of Australia. There are approximately 550 stores in the centre at present.
There have been speculation or suggestions that a hotel could be built at the shopping centre. Stonnington Council is currently seeking submissions and comments from nearby residents and will hold a community forum.
