On Boxing day, 26
th December 2008, Melbourne's largest shopping complex Chadstone will open its doors from 7am until midnight for Boxing Day Sales. This gives shoppers another 17 hours to find the perfect bargain, exchange unwanted gifts, or make use of their unused Christmas gift cards. Following that, opening hours will gradually return to normal business hours by early January 2009.
Opening hours for the 2008 Christmas trading period and the 2009 New Year, as released by Chadstone shopping Centre:

With the recent re-opening of the 2nd level Coles carpark, plus the bridge-joined top-level carpark above Goldcross Cycles/1st Choice Liquor, shoppers should have less trouble finding a parking space. The carpark above Goldcross has shadecloth shelter, making it ideal for use on hot days.
The 3rd (top level) Coles carpark has nearly been fully constructed and is available for use by Boxing day customers. Although the top level carpark is not fully complete, the Centre decided to open it anyway to alleviate parking woes on Boxing day. "We have 1000 new car spaces, that should cut down on the tradition of carpark stalking" said Stephen deWaele.
Around 100,000 shoppers are expected to make the trip to Chaddy this Boxing Day.
As was the case on the 23
rd and 24
th, the police will most likely make their presence known again.
