2009 Chadstone Shopping 24-hour trading period starts tomorrow

Tomorrow, on the 23rd and 24th of December 2009, Chadstone will open its doors for round the clock trading. Doors will open from 8am on the 23rd (Wednesday) until 6pm on the 24th (Thursday). This gives 34 hours of continuous shopping during the two days.
Even without the government economic stimulus for this year, shoppers are expected to spend as much, if not more than last Christmas. Centre Manager, Stephen DeWaele agrees.
It will be the second time the new three-lane Middle Road entrance to Chadstone is subjected to extreme levels of traffic.
Traffic police is expected to be present at all major intersections to ensure traffic does not cause blockages.
In this time of rushing, urgency and sometimes desperation, shoppers are urged to show some courtesy and respect to others, especially in the carparks. This means being patient, and not stealing parking spots that others have been waiting for. Road rage also should not be something a Christmas shopper would have to be subjected to.
