Late night shopping popular, last minute 2009 Christmas shopping closes in hours

50,000 shoppers flowed through the doors of Chadstone last night between 10pm on Wednesday and 4am Thursday morning.
Centre Manager Stephen DeWaele says although there are only a few hours left, the centre is set to break the all time record with a total of 214,000 shoppers expected to pass through the doors by close of business today. Despite the global financial crisis, buyers are still spending up big this Christmas.
The centre finishes its 24 hour shopping finale at 6pm tonight (24th Dec 2009).
The Centre will be open again early on Boxing Day 2009. Trading starts from 7am until midnight.
