2012 Chadstone Christmas Shopper Numbers up by 4%

The number of shoppers visiting Chadstone Shopping Centre during the 34-hour
non-stop marathon was up by 4% compared to last year (2011). Centre Manager
Daniel Sutton said 245,000 people visited the centre between 23 and 24 December 2012.
Despite the major traffic queues that stretched down the Monash Fwy Warrigal Rd off-ramp,
more customers were able to visit the centre. The new
ParkAssist system may have had a
part to play, helping shoppers find a vacant car space more quickly than ever before.
In the hours towards the closing time of 6pm, the Centre was a much quieter place than the
previous night. Nonetheless, enthusiatic shoppers continued browsing stores right up until
closing time.
The Centre is now closed for trading until Boxing day.
